The USBasp programmer is included in most Tinusaur Starter Kits and is a vital tool for programming the Tinusaur boards.
The programmer is connected to a computer USB port while the cable connects to the Tinusaur board.
With your Tinusaur Starter kit, you have everything you need to start building and programming your electronic projects right out of the box.
Connecting the USBasp Programmer
To connect the USBasp programmer to your Tinusaur board and your computer:
- Locate the 10-pin shrouded header on your Tinusaur board. There is an identifying notch on the connector’s body.
- There is a 10-wire flat cable that comes with the USBasp programmer. It has two 10-pin female connectors at both ends. There are tabs (or bumps) on the connectors.
- Insert the cable connector into the shrouded header.
- Ensure the orientation matches correctly – the tab should go into the notch.

Once securely connected:
- Insert the USBasp into a USB port on your computer.
- While connected, the programmer provides power to the board, so no additional power source is needed.

Ensure the required USBasp programmer drivers are installed on your computer so it functions properly.
Then, use your programming environment (like Blocktinu) to build and upload your code to your Tinusaur board.
More information about the USBasp programmer is available on the Blocktinu / Getting Starter page.
